About this deal

Challenges? Not really. It was just a reflection of the world as it is around us. Disillusioned. Amoral. Dishonest. But somewhere within, a bit of hidden good. I'm going to use this space to tell you a little about SONS OF DARKNESS in case you're wondering whether you might enjoy reading it. The War of the Sons of Light Against the Sons of Darkness, also known as War Rule, Rule of War and the War Scroll, is a manual for military organization and strategy that was discovered among the Dead Sea Scrolls. The manuscript was among the scrolls found in Qumran Cave 1, acquired by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and first published posthumously by Eleazar Sukenik in 1955. [1] The document is made up of various scrolls and fragments including 1QM, and 4Q491–497. [1] It is possible that The War of the Messiah is the conclusion to this document. [2] The 4Q491–497 fragments were published by Maurice Baillet in Discoveries in the Judaean Desert, 7 and comprise a shorter recension of the War Scroll. [1] History [ edit ]

Luke 16:8 The master commended the dishonest manager because

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise. The end justifies the means... Any end achieved through violence ends in a pit of despair. It is not a destination to aspire to, my friend.’ consists of 19 columns, of which the first 14–19 lines of each have been preserved. [1] i. Summarizes the War against the Kittim. ii. Summarizes the War of Divisions telling of a total forty years of combat. iii–ix. Deal almost exclusively with the inscriptions meant to be displayed on banners, trumpets, darts, etc. x–xiv. A number of liturgical pieces, which seem meant for the War of Divisions, but explicitly mention the Kittim, possibly because these are a later addition stemming from a tradition of a more universal fight against the Kittim. [7] xv–xix. Describes the seven-stage battle, led by the priests, between Light and Darkness, the War against the Kittim. The battle is finally won by divine intervention. [1] Links with other scrolls [ edit ] The rich man had to admire the dishonest rascal for being so shrewd. And it is true that the children of this world are more shrewd in dealing with the world around them than are the children of the light. The super stunning cover art by Micaela Alcaino caught my attention, and everything the author said in his interview with Fantasy Book Critic finalized my decision to read this book. Sons of Darkness, the first Indian Epic Grimdark Fantasy novel (published in India), is the first installment in The Raag of Rta series. It is practically a smorgasbord of Mahabharata, A Song of Ice and Fire by George R. R. Martin, The First Law by Joe Abercrombie, Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson, and The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. All of these (except Mahabharata that I haven't read) are some of my favorite series/books of all time, and there is no way I am not reading this. And now that I've finished reading Sons of Darkness, I can vouch that these series' respective influences are embedded with justice. Mohanty deserves praise for his creativity in blending every one of them into one unforgettably stunning and distinct debut novel. And believe me, once you've read this novel, the hidden symbolism behind the cover art will shine through. Let’s begin this review with a brilliant line from the novel:

And his lord commended the unrighteous steward because he had done wisely: for the sons of this world are for their own generation wiser than the sons of the light. The author's vision, and the world he has created is breathtaking and fascinating. The Indian Fantasy Fiction genre finally comes of age with this book. -- Anand Neelakantan, bestselling author of Asura and The Bahubali Series

Including all the forms of declension; apparently a primary word; all, any, every, the whole. Gourav: Honestly, I just do not know the answer to this question. I do like my days to be productive. I enjoy arguing before courts, love making people laugh and hunger for readers to be consumed by my stories. Stagnation is a death sentence for me. Love the hustle. Chit-chat, small talk, delaying, waiting around, and scrolling, is all useless. If you want to get shit done, you have to jump straight into the action.

This book starts off with a banger of a prologue. It sets up some great world building and finishes off with the promise of future troubles. I'm not really a fan of prologues because I feel most i've read are just glorified first chapters and don't really focus on setting up the world and foreshadowing future events, but I would highly recommend anyone who reads this book to not skip it. Schiffman, Lawrence H. (1998). Texts and Traditions: A Source Reader for the Study of Second Temple and Rabbinic Judaism. Hoboken, NJ: KTAV Publishing House. p.359. We all drink, unconsciously or not, from the fountain of our creative inspirations. This book sprang from the smorgasbord of A Song of Ice and Fire, Malazan and First Law. I’m not saying Sons of Darkness will read like these works. But if geopolitical dramas across kingdoms layered with brutality, caste-conflicts, dry humor and twists (and a South Asian touch) is something you love, I hope you will find it reflected in the writing. And the lord commended the unrighteous steward that he did prudently, because the sons of this age are more prudent than the sons of the light, in respect to their generation. Sons of Darkness is a 'reimagining' of the Mahabharata. Why did you decide to base your debut on this epic? And how did you find the experience of basing your novel on something that already exists? Their lives are about to become very difficult for a cast of sinister queens, naive kings, pious assassins and ravenous priests are converging where the Son of Darkness is prophesied to rise, even as forgotten Gods prepare to play their hand" Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made.
