Turtle Beach® exclusive Superhuman Hearing® sound setting lets you hear subtle, game-changing sounds so you can live longer and win more. Hear vital game details like enemy footsteps and weapon reloads to elevate your game above the Even with all its changes, though, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 is still a more feature-rich version of the Stealth 600 Gen 2, and the last generation of Turtle Beach’s Stealth headsets. Though the plastic band is slightly larger and features a steel frame, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 features the same rotating hinges as the Stealth 600 Gen 2, and the same shaped earcups designed to hug your ears.

And thanks to a much longer-lasting battery, you can wear the Stealth 700 Gen 2 through lots of long gameplay sessions. According to Turtle Beach, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 should last through 20 hours on a single charge, up from just 10 hours per charge on the original. Anecdotally, I found the headset lasted through about three days of regular use on average, even when regularly pairing and unpairing with my smartphone. A 20-hour charge is on the high side of average for a gaming headset, but that should be more than enough for most players, so long as you keep a charging solution handy to top it off between sessions. The Stealth 700 Gen 2 houses 50mm nano clear neodymium drivers, so the headset is at its best in complex, more bass-focused environments and games. As such, FPS enthusiasts and shooter gluttons will find the most enjoyment in the more low-end focused sound stage. If things start getting really hectic – we’re looking at you MMO players – the headset can struggle to layer things through in a way that’s easy to parse, and in hectic environments, you might notice the headset’s usual clarity gets a bit muddy. Connecting it to your phone and booting up Turtle Beach’s dedicated phone app is the only way to tweak the headset’s settings. It stops short of full EQ level controls, but it still has lots of features. You can set up your own custom balance of bass and treble, adjust the mic level, and tweak the volume of system audio prompts. Connections Wireless Transmitter: Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, PS5™, PS4™, PS4™ Pro, PS4™ Slim, Nintendo Switch™, PC & Mac®Pairing the Max with the PS5’s 3D Audio was more impressive. After some fiddling in the PS5 settings and testing in Elden Ring, I found a setup that gave me a full, rich landscape of music and game sounds. I could hear the wind rustling through the grass, the fluttering cloth of a flag, the crunch of my footsteps, and the nearby cries of warring monsters, all layered upon one another. It drew me further into the game world. Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 Max – Purchasing Guide

Fixed an issue where game volume was low on PlayStation 5. TURTLE BEACH AUDIO HUB - Desktop Software Fix for incorrect battery level reporting on some phones. TURTLE BEACH AUDIO HUB - Desktop SoftwareLike with any headset, after an extended gaming session I was conscious of the band against the top of my head, but it was never sore, and slight adjustments relieved any minor discomfort. As a mark of how comfy it was, I fell asleep while listening to podcasts late at night with the headset on, and only woke up several hours later. Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 – SoftwareThe Stealth 700 Gen 2 uses two pieces of software, both called Turtle Beach Audio Hub. The Audio Hub app on your gaming PC only communicates with the Stealth 700 Gen 2 as a means of upgrading its firmware. You’ll need it, but you’ll rarely use it.

The second big selling point of the Max is battery life. The base Gen 2 lasted roughly 20 hours per charge, but the Max will last more than 40 hours, according to Turtle Beach, which is longer than all but one of the headsets on our best wireless headset list. It stood up to that claim in my testing: after two weeks using it on and off, adding up to more than 25 hours of sound time, I was hovering at about 50% battery. I took it on a weekend away knowing, gloriously, that I could leave the charger behind, saving space in my bag. New firmware updates are now available for your Stealth 600 Gen 2 for Xbox and Stealth 600 Gen 2 for PlayStation ®! Connect your headset to the Turtle Beach Audio Hub program on your PC to update your device’s firmware to:Straight out of the box, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 sounded like a one-star headset. The amount of fuzz and distortion to the sound was truly awful, making it almost impossible to assess any other factors. Thankfully, a software update (applied via computer) has made a huge difference, and it is now possible to get a better sense of the headset’s overall merits. As for the sound quality, that’s entirely unchanged from the 700 Gen 2, which means the same, powerful 50mm speakers pumping clear and loud. In the narrative game Citizen Sleeper, the Max nailed both the rumbling, ambient spaceship sounds and the bouncy, futuristic music layered on top, while in Elden Ring the clash of sword on armor rang through my head. You can certainly buy headsets with heavier bass and slightly crisper high notes, but you’ll be paying a lot more for relatively minor improvements.
